As Face is the Indy of a Man, so Cover Letter is the index of your Resume/Bio-Data. When you applying for ant post/job and sending your Resume either by E-Mail/ or by Post/Courier, You need to prepare a Cover Letter which describes your application details in short. And help to the Recruiter to go for details of your Resume. So it is necessary to design your Cover letter which should be an impressive one and remember, “a good and impressive Cover letter decides the Employer to look for more in your Resume. Otherwise your Resume may be missed out in the selection process.
COVERING LETTER:-
A covering letter helps from a mental schema or cognitive framework based on which the interviewer accesses the candidate. The covering letter that is sloppy will lead to similar traits getting associated with one’s personality and one can find himself on the defensive in the interview.
Please make sure that your CV is accompanied by a cover letter , how ever brief. Be sure that it should be a hand written letter having Capital and Small letters as per your usage . If you are sending the CV by E mail or Internet, then do not use Upper Case as well as Lower Case Letters. Do not write a cover letter messaging like “In response to your advertisement….” If there is no advertisement from the employer side.
PRE REQUISITE OF A JOB APPLICATION
1. Write a Cover Letter always when you are sending your CV to an Employer/ Recruiter
2. The Cover Letter should be a Hand Written one
3. If the advertiser has specified for a specific (DOC/ASCI/TEXT/RTF) Format, please adhere to that specifications otherwise your CV will not be screened in the System.
4. Do not send several copies of your CV to the same employer. Your CV will not be scrutinized and your e-mail ID will be listed as a Spam in the employer mailing List Box.
5. It is preferably to send an Updated CV later on if you have once got the chance to appear the Interview.
6. Carry a couple of Hard Copies of your CV with you when you are going for the Interview.
7. If the advertiser asked to send the Bio Data to a particular address / Snail mail then do not send it to other address.
8. Do not send your CV like a Paper chase as Please Find CV on the Home Page… etc and asking the employer to look for it.
9. If you are applying online for a Job, then keep your cover letter very short, mentioning the Post to which you are applying and other materials that are not contained in your CV.
