The fellowship is offered to students to work on a research project for 8 weeks with a fellowship of Rs. 3,500/- P.M. in addition to free hostel accommodation and 2nd class return railway fare .This programme is only for academically bright students in many areas of theoretical and experimental physics ,asbonomy,chemistry &biology.Prefinal year students with good academic record can also apply.

This Scholarship is Provided By Science and Engg. Research Council (SERC) to encourage Women Scientiests who had have breaks in their careers. WSS (Womens Scientific Scheme) will provide a Launch Pad for them up to the age of 50 to return to main stream in Science and to work as bench level Scientiests in Science and Technology. The Scheme focouses on Research in Basic and applied Sciences in the Subject areas of Physical Science, Chemical Scioences, Mathematical Science, Life Science, Earth Science, Atomspheric Science, Engineering Sciences.
A project proposal should be submitted in Active Collaboration with an Academic/ Research and Development Institutions in the Choosen Subject area. This Schemes provides a research Grant with an upper limit of Rs 15 Lakhs for a well defined Research and Development Project for a period of 3 years. The Candidate should be within 35 of years of age with a minimum of PG Degree in Basic/Applied Sciences/ B Tech in Engg/ MBBS can get Rs 10,000/-P M . Women Students with PhD/M Tech/MD/DM/MCH up to the age of 50 can get Rs 15,000/- P M . Preference will be given to candidates with a break in their career due to family reasons but those who are employed need not apply.
