The Hindu in association with Hitachi Limited of Tokyo, Japan invites application for Scholarships for Technical Training in Japan from the eligible candidates of India within the age group of 30 years having minimum degree of B.E / BSc (Engg) from any recognized University having at least one year of professional experience. Candidates those who have already practical experience in the field of Information and Telecommunication systems, Power and Industrial Systems and Digital Media Products will be given preference.
The Scholarship is tenable for 6 Months and will commence from July 2009. and the no of Scholarships are 03.
Selected Trainees will be provided with return economy class air passage along with arranged free boarding and lodging and will be given defray of all expenses for traveling in Japan and each trainees will be paid a monthly fixed allowances to cover his personal expenses.
The Trainees shall be during their training under the supervision and direction of Hitachi which has full discretion on scope, mode, duration and place of establishment of their training. Training will not be available in the R&D activities of Hitachi.

This fellowship is being provided by Ford Foundation for 40 Indian Nationals those who are currently residing in Bihar, Chhatisgarh, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
To be eligible for this scholarship, the candidate should be a graduate and having at least 3 years of work experience relevant to the proposed field of study which includes Social Science, Arts and Humanities. The candidate should have demonstrated leadership and community service experience. Preference will be given to graduates belonging to Schedule castes, Schedule Tribes and other Backward Classes, Religious Minorities as well as women and the Physically Challenged candidates.
