This scholarship is provided by The Hindu, one of the Premier National Dailies in association to with Hitachi Ltd., Tokyo, Japan to Indian Citizens less than 30 Years of age those who have possessed a minimum degree of B.E./ B.Sc.(Engg.) from any recognized University. The no of scholarship available is Three. The Scholarships are tenable in Japan for principally 6 months and the trainees have to undergo general training in one of the following products of Hitachi Ltd as
1. Information & Telecommunication Systems
2. Power & Industrial systems
3. Digital media products
The candidates with one years of Professional experience will be given preference. Applicants applied before & interviewed once need not apply again.
Selected candidate will be provided return economic class air passage in addition to free lodging & boarding in Japan & defray of all expenses for traveling in Japan and besides this each trainee will be paid a monthly allowance to cover his/her personal Expenses.

A project proposal should be submitted in Active Collaboration with an Academic/ Research and Development Institutions in the Choosen Subject area. This Schemes provides a research Grant with an upper limit of Rs 15 Lakhs for a well defined Research and Development Project for a period of 3 years. The Candidate should be within 35 of years of age with a minimum of PG Degree in Basic/Applied Sciences/ B Tech in Engg/ MBBS can get Rs 10,000/-P M . Women Students with PhD/M Tech/MD/DM/MCH up to the age of 50 can get Rs 15,000/- P M . Preference will be given to candidates with a break in their career due to family reasons but those who are employed need not apply.
